Issaquah Fitness is introducing two new Pilates classes; Sweat-Barre and Gyrokinesis!
Sweat-Barre
10:45 am Thursday mornings starting June 30th
Sweat-Barre is a complete circuit training and conditioning class that fuses ballet barre work, Pilates, resistance training, and cardio resulting in a strong, supple, and graceful body. The end product is regal posture that is second nature; natural grace and poise; long, lean, elegant muscles; spatial awareness, and strength. This is functional training at its best: Body sculpting not bodybuilding.
Gyrokinesis
10:45 am Wednesday mornings starting June 29th
Gyrokinesis is a movement method that gently works the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement: forward, backward, left side, right side, left twist, right twist and circular, as well as all other joint articulation. Gyrokinesis opens energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original, and unique movement practice that has roots in Yoga, Tai Chi, gymnastics, and dance. This class will be a MyFit Small Group Training.
About the Instructor
Tammy Gibson is a dancing mommy of 2 children with accolades including the Radio City Rockette’s, soloist in the broadway show Fosse, as well as teaching and designing fitness programs all over the world for the past 20 years. She has performed with many artists including Hugh Jackman, Beyonce, and Dolly Parton. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the prestigious New York University Tisch School of Performing Arts and studied for three years with one of Joseph Pilates “Master Inheritors,” Kathy Grant. She then went on to complete her Pilates certification through one of the priviledged few “2nd Generation” Pilates master instructors, Jennifer Kries. Tammy is a certified level 2 Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis instructor as well as an advanced Cardiobarre instructor in Los Angeles, CA.
