MyFit Training is taking off at Issaquah Fitness.  We wanted to introduce you to the team of trainers who are leading the group classes for this dynamic program. Read a little bit about each one in their own words:

Desiree Holt-Adams

I firmly believe in the benefit of regular exercise and well-balanced nutrition for a better body, mind and soul. My mission is to inspire clients to be the best versions of themselves.  I’m committed to their journey every step the way with their consistent workouts.  With correct resistance training and cardiorespiratory exercise, plus a clean whole foods intake, you can increase strength and lean muscle mass, helping to maintain a youthful level of energy, an efficient metabolism, and a positive attitude.  Time invested in yourself yields returns. Challenge creates change.

Continuing education in exercise science and fitness is very important and I hold multiple certifications including ACE Personal Trainer, TRX Suspension, RIP and Group, Schwinn Cycling Classic Instructor to name just a few.  Presently I am working towards obtaining my ACE Nutrition Specialist Certification (late 2016 to 2017)

I have been a personal trainer and a group exercise instructor for 20 years. I am professionally certified in kickboxing, Pilates, Kettlebell, personal training and group exercise. My goal as a trainer is to have our members: lose body fat, increase muscle and have a great time doing it. I want to send as many members as possible home sweaty, strong and smiling!

I have lived in the fitness industry all of my life.  As a young man, I started at the front desk, worked in maintenance and then began teaching swim lessons. Most recently I have taught TRX group training and started to follow my passion for personal training. I specialize in TRX and personal training as well as being a GX Instructor. My goal when it comes to training is to learn everything I can in order to help as many people as possible enjoy the lasting benefits I have received from fitness. My favorite part about being a trainer is inspiring my clients to surround themselves with a healthier social group that enjoys fitness as a lifestyle.

About a year and half ago I decided that I wanted to start living a healthier lifestyle and lost over ninety pounds. I really enjoy lifting weights and running. This summer I will be one of the Fitness Assessment Specialists as well as showing new members how to use the equipment that we have in the weight room. My goal when it comes to training is to get people to see that being healthy is fun and so rewarding. My favorite part about being a trainer is to watch people’s self confidence grow when they start living a healthy lifestyle and begin to achieve their goals.

I was a competitive athlete throughout my youth. I recently became interested in bodybuilding and creating the ideal aesthetic of myself. I will be a Fitness Assessment Specialist and will help members get the most out of our weight room. When it comes to personal training, a goal of mine is to help people realize their fitness level can have a positive effect on their life outside of the gym. My favorite part about being a trainer is seeing people develop a self awareness and confidence they never knew existed.

Jaymi Stuermer

I am a new face here at Issaquah Fitness as the Assistant Operations Manager as well as a personal trainer. My background includes playing college soccer and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Eastern Washington University in 2012.  I have my NSCA personal training certification and have been working as a trainer and also a Silver Sneakers class instructor.  My goal is for my clients to feel empowered.  Helping them become stronger mentally as well as physically is essential.  My favorite part of personal training is seeing the progress and witnessing my client change for the better. I want to help reveal someone’s true potential and reach their goals.

My love for martial arts is infectious! I started out as a participant in a Tae Kwon Do (Korean martial arts) class in 2002. In 2005, I won my Black Belt via World Taekwondo Federation Kukkiwon, Seoul Korea, and kept pushing the envelope. While serving in Hong Kong as a US Diplomat with my husband Lou, I became a student of Four Time World Muay Thai Champion Alain Ngalani. I also trained for Power Lifting under Alex Azarian, NPC National Bodybuilding champion.  I am currently a certified instructor of Les Mills ® Body Combat (mixed martial arts), Les Mills ® Body Pump (Advanced Instructor Module 1-Strength training Barbell class) as well as Schwinn ® Classic Cycling Instructor and Schwinn ® Mpower with Power Cycling Instructor. My training specializes in mixed martial arts, strength training, Tabata / HIIT and cycling.

As a big proponent of proper technique and form, my students execute safe and effective exercises, following the principles of mixed martial arts. I break down steps to execute moves, and make them accessible to all levels and abilities. I love seeing the results of my client’s hard work and dedication, and this is personally motivating.
