Alignment Yoga Workshop

Enhance your flexibility and strength as you practice yoga in the Iyengar, alignment-based tradition with this interactive workshop-style series of classes intended for those new to yoga or those interested in learning alignment yoga to refine an existing practice. Alignment yoga is ideal to compliment other athletic pursuits by providing increased flexibility, improved focus, and simple breathwork techniques. Classes will include warming sequences, sun salutations with alignment to allow safe movement through linked postures, static yoga postures to build strength and flexibility, cooling poses, and a final resting pose (Savasana).
Please bring a yoga mat, all skill levels are welcome. Members are welcome to attend any or all workshops!
Meet the instructor
Emily found Yoga nine years ago driven from a desire to enhance her flexibility. She practiced Vinyasa power yoga before being introduced to Alignment Yoga three years ago. She was drawn to the precision of movement and the anatomical basis for poses.
In 2014 she completed her 200 hour training in Alignment-Based Yoga, and began teaching teen athletes, beginners’ alignment yoga, and yin yoga. Emily enjoys weaving meditation and breathing practices into her classes and hopes to empower students to deepen their practice through an understanding of anatomy and alignment.
